Morrisville State College to host free events at IcePlex

The Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation (MAC) of Morrisville State College is hosting a day of events Jan. 26 in celebration of national skating month—January 2013.



The events, which are free and open to the public, take place from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the college's IcePlex and include hockey games, speed skating races, skating relays, synchronized, ice dance and singles figure skating exhibitions, and more.

The IcePlex is a twin-rink facility on the Morrisville State College campus which is home ice for the Morrisville State College's Division III Mustang Varsity Hockey Team, the Cazenovia High School Varsity program, Center State Stampede Youth Hockey Program, BlueLine Hockey School, Center State Figure Skating Club and Center State Speed Skating Club.



The IcePlex hosts many annual events; ice hockey tournaments for junior clubs, high school, and youth hockey, Blue Line Hockey Summer Camps and Clinics, area school fundraisers, American Legion Boys State, Ice Shows presented by Center State Figure Skating Club and speed skating races. The IcePlex has two NHL size rinks, with a full-service pro shop and snack bar.
