Morrisville State College lines up events for Mustang Weekend

Morrisville State College is gearing up for Mustang Weekend 2010, Sept. 24-26.



The weekend event is open to Morrisville State College students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and emeriti, and members of the community.



A tailgate celebration is among the highlighted events planned as a kick-off for the opening of the college's new athletic stadium. Complimentary hot dogs and hamburgers will be served at 11 a.m. in the stadium parking lot before the Morrisville State College homecoming football game versus the Montclair State Red Hawks at noon.



The new multi-purpose stadium, which boasts seating for 1,800, a synthetic turf field, press box, concessions and a hospitality suite, will be showcased throughout the weekend with a lineup of athletic contests, including football, field hockey and alumni lacrosse games, a meet the president reception, and a 50th reunion dinner for the Class of 1960.



The community is also partaking in Mustang Weekend festivities, hosting an open house at the historic Morrisville Engine House and a banned book discussion at the public library about Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. There will also be a fireworks display, campus tours, brunch, entertainment, a campus carnival, and an environmental sciences fair where participants can learn about maple sugaring.



Additional weekend highlights include: Madison Hall 5k run, Auto Club cruise-in, business etiquette refresher class, student government carnival with bounce houses, Bicknell Open House, tie dye with the Class of 1960, Talons: A Bird of Prey Experience show, family/alumni farewell brunch.
