Morrisville State College Student Receives Dairy Scholarship

Morrisville State College student, Jennifer Shultz, 19, of Dillsburg, Pa., was recently awarded a scholarship from the Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation.



The $3,500 scholarship is given to students based on their participation at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, academic achievement, financial need, and participation in 4-H or Future Farmers of America (FFA), and community service.



Shultz, a second year animal science-dairy major, is a 10-year veteran of the York County 4-H program.



In addition to her work in 4-H, Shultz competed on the 2009 Morrisville State College Dairy Judging Team, was high scoring individual at the All-American Dairy Judging Contest in Harrisburg, Pa., and placed in the top 10 overall in two other competitions.



She served as chairperson of the dairy cattle selection committee for the 27th Annual Morrisville College Autumn Review Dairy Sale and has been active in the Morrisville College Dairy Club and collegiate FFA.



A 2008 graduate of Northern High School in Pennsylvania, where she was named Outstanding Ag Science Student, Shultz is also active in the Gifford Pinchot FFA Chapter in Dillsburg, Pa. Her accolades include being named York County Outstanding Dairy Member, York County Outstanding 4-H Beef Member and York County Outstanding FFA Member.



Based on her leadership and participation in FFA, she has also received numerous awards including the Star Greenhand, Star Chapter, Star White Rose and Keystone FFA degrees.



She is the daughter of Julie and David Shultz of Dillsburg, Pa.
