Dear students, faculty and staff,

With the health and safety of the campus community remaining our top priority, I am writing to you to provide an important update to SUNY Morrisville’s COVID-19 policies.

As we are poised to begin the next academic year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently released new guidance in light of the rising COVID-19 rates due to the highly contagious Delta variant.

Although we thankfully have not yet seen a rise in such cases in Madison County, we want to proactively take every measure we can to ensure a safe return to campus and protect our surrounding communities. Effective immediatelyface coverings will be required to be worn in all indoor spaces for the entire Morrisville campus, regardless of vaccination status. This requirement is also in place for the Norwich and Syracuse EOC campuses.

This important step continues to allow us to offer the full SUNY Morrisville experience, including activities, classroom and lab experiences, in a safe and effective manner.

Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and wearing masks remains our best line of defense to combat the spread of this new variant and help protect one another. If you have not yet been vaccinated, I urge you to do so.

We will continue to monitor and follow health and safety guidance from the CDC and the New York State Department of Health and will provide any further updates to the college’s COVID-19 policies and procedures via email and our website.

Our continued thanks to all of you as we collectively adapt to this new and everchanging environment. I look forward to a safe and successful start of a new academic year and to seeing us all together this fall.

Be safe and be well.
