SUNY Morrisville offers two programs in diesel technology that combine hands-on learning with industry-standard technology.
Our Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree program in diesel equipment technology trains you to start your career as a technician and move into management, while also preparing you to continue your studies in a bachelor’s degree program if you are looking to further your management skills.
Our Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.) degree program in diesel technology is perfect if you want to master the fields of agriculture, industrial and vehicular mechanics and be job-ready following graduation.
Coursework for both programs include electronics, hydraulics, powertrains and fuel systems, with the A.A.S. program also incorporating liberal arts and sciences courses and the A.O.S. program providing a variety of electives to choose from.
Morrisville’s exceptional industry ties also will allow you to work hands-on with machines used in the field today. When we bring in a variety of production machines for use in coursework throughout the academic year, you will be equipped to troubleshoot and repair in the future.
Additionally, our outstanding facilities include laboratories to test, practice and demonstrate equipment such as:
- Small power equipment
- Hydraulic diesel equipment
- Farm machinery and heavy equipment
- Diesel fuel systems
- Welding
You can further enhance your college experience through the Agricultural Engineering Club, which offers you several opportunities for involvement through annual events such as the antique tractor and machinery show during Mustang Weekend and an annual spring field trip.
