Morrisville State drops to 1-21 overall, 1-13 in conference play, while the Express improve to 12-10 and remain in a fight for the top spot in the Northern Division with an 11-3 NEAC record.

Juniors Mickey Davis (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Jordan Prior (Cortland, N.Y.) combined for 33 points Wednesday night to lead host Morrisville State College men’s basketball past visiting Wells College by a 77-65 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) final in Morrisville. The Mustangs improve to 16-5 overall, 10-2 in conference play, while the Express drop to 9-13, 5-7 in the NEAC.

Visiting Morrisville State College women’s basketball fell behind early and was unable to recover as host Penn State Harrisburg posted the 57-43 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win Sunday afternoon in Middletown. Morrisville State drops to 1-20 overall, 1-12 in conference play. The Nittany Lions improve to 14-6, and reach the 10-3 mark in NEAC action.

Visiting Morrisville State College men’s basketball struggled Sunday afternoon against the reigning southern division champion, and as a result had their 12-game win streak snapped, as host Penn State Harrisburg collected a 70-58 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory in Middletown. The Mustangs, who sit at the top of the conference with a 9-2 record, drop to 15-5 overall on the season. Harrisburg improves to 10-12 overall, 7-4 in conference action.

Visiting Morrisville State College men’s basketball erased an eight point second half deficit using a game changing run to top host Gallaudet University 75-56 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. The Mustangs post their 12th straight victory to improve to 15-4 overall, remaining atop the NEAC with a 9-1 conference record. Gallaudet, who was a threat to Morrisville State through 24 minutes of play, drops to 9-13 overall, 5-6 in conference play.

The Morrisville State College athletics department has named Jordan Prior (Cortland, N.Y.) and Michael Markowitz (Staten Island, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Co-Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 27.

Visiting Keuka College women’s basketball came from behind in the second half to hand host Morrisville State College a 65-48 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) loss Wednesday night in Morrisville. The Mustangs drop to 1-18 overall, 1-10 in conference play. Keuka remains atop the conference with an 11-1 NEAC record, improving to a 14-2 overall mark.

Host Morrisville State College men’s basketball avenged an earlier season conference loss, handing visiting Keuka College Storm a 79-69 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) defeat Wednesday night in Morrisville. Morrisville State remains atop the NEAC with an 8-1 overall record, improving to a 14-4 overall mark. Keuka drops to 9-10 overall, 7-4 in conference action.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as announced its weekly hockey award winners, naming Morrisville State’s Christopher Azzano (Oshawa, Ontario) the Goalie of the Week and Michael Markowitz (Staten Island, N.Y.) the Rookie of the Week.
