Dear students, family and friends,

Congratulations to all of this year’s SUNY Morrisville graduates! To celebrate the Class of 2021, the SUNY Morrisville 2021 Virtual Commencement experience will be available tomorrow, May 22, at 1 p.m., and on-demand anytime afterward.

We hope you’ll join us for the YouTube premiere, in partnership with virtual ceremony specialization company StageClip, which allows us to all watch and experience the video together. There’s a countdown, and you’ll be able to see how many people are watching together while interacting with chat and comments.

College leadership will present the ceremony from our traditional in-person Commencement event, featuring opening and closing remarks by SUNY Morrisville President David Rogers, Provost Barry Spriggs, Student Government Organization (SGO) President Tendaji Ya'Ukuu and other officials as they recognize graduates, confer the degrees and invite graduates to move their tassels on their caps from the right to the left.

Graduating students will have their names, degree program and degree type displayed on a title card and read aloud. Each degree program will be listed by chapters with time codes in the video description so students will know when their name will soon appear on the screen.

While we would love for you to join us live for the premiere Saturday, you also can watch the video anytime that is convenient for you, potentially sharing the moment with friends and family. Directly following the conclusion of the Virtual Commencement, a follow-up email will be sent to you that includes a YouTube link to a recording of the event, as well as links for additional video messages featuring remarks to the Class of 2021 from:

  • State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor Jim Malatras;
  • United States Senator Chuck Schumer; and
  • Lieutenant Governor of New York Kathy Hochul.

Also, don’t forget that graduates and parents from the Class of 2021 can celebrate and show their #MustangPride through our special Facebook cover images and profile frames, as well as printable pennants to turn your Virtual Commencement celebration space into Mustang Country! Check them all out on our Commencement webpage.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you and see what you share on social media using #MoVilleGrad2021 and #MustangProud. We want you to look forward with confidence, look forward to graduating and look forward to your future!
