A new chapter is beginning at SUNY Morrisville as Dr. Michelle A. Coach takes the helm as the college’s ninth president.

Coach officially begins her tenure this week as Morrisville prepares to welcome hundreds of students to campus for the start of the fall semester. Since arriving at Morrisville, Coach has been making her way across campus, meeting faculty and staff, getting to know the people who make up the college community and looking toward the opportunities ahead.

“I am deeply honored and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next president of SUNY Morrisville,” Coach said. “I am humbled by the trust placed in me, excited about what lies ahead and incredibly proud to join the SUNY Morrisville community.”

Coach brings extensive experience in higher education and a strong commitment to student success, workforce development and creating opportunities that prepare graduates for the workforce. Her arrival comes as SUNY Morrisville continues to build on its distinctive hands-on approach to education and expand opportunities for students.

“The SUNY Morrisville community is looking forward to welcoming SUNY Morrisville President Dr. Coach,” Provost Jason Zbock said. “Her background and experience will provide the college opportunities to strengthen current strategic projects and build collectively to the future.”

“As College Senate President, I am excited to work with Dr. Coach and continue our strong commitment to shared governance as we build on Morrisville’s strengths and move into this next chapter,” said Jennifer Gilbert Jenkins. “I am confident that, together, we can create new opportunities for our campus community. The future is bright for SUNY Morrisville.”

Coach said she is eager to begin working alongside the Morrisville community and to learn more about the people, programs and partnerships that make the college unique.

“I cannot wait to meet more of our students, faculty and staff, listen to the people who know and love Morrisville and begin building our future together,” Coach said.
