The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) announced its football players of the week, naming Morrisville State College freshman linebacker, TJ Barnaba (Marcy, NY) the Defensive Rookie of the Week for the week ending October 8. Barnaba assisted the Mustangs in securing their first victory of the season, a 35-21 conference defeat over Western Connecticut on Saturday. In the contest, he led the team with eight total tackles, including two solo and one for a loss of a yard.
The Morrisville State College women's soccer team dropped a pair of conference games this weekend against Penn State Abington and Penn State Berks, losing 4-0 and 3-0, respectively. Jennifer Zidzik (Lambertsville, N.J.) recorded both losses for the Mustangs in goal, playing the full game for both contests. Morrisville State is now 2-8-1 overall and 1-6-1 in conference play. The women's soccer team is back home on Saturday, October 15 to face Penn State Harrisburg at 3 PM.  
The Morrisville State men's soccer team came from behind to beat Penn State Abington in conference play on Saturday, but couldn't repeat as they fell to Penn State Berks on Sunday, 2-1. The Mustangs are now 2-6-3 overall and 2-2-2 in conference play.
Sophomore quarterback Lemar Johnson (Ossining, NY) threw for 194 yards and two scores on 18-of-27 passes, added 78 yards and another touchdown on the ground, to lead the Morrisville State College football team to a 35-21 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) victory over visiting Western Connecticut State University Saturday afternoon in Morrisville. Morrisville State improves to 1-4 overall, 1-3 in NJAC play, while WestConn drops to 0-5, 0-4 in the conference.
Host Oneonta State field hockey used a four goal second half to escape visiting Morrisville State College with a 6-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory Friday afternoon in Oneonta. Oneonta held a two goal lead at the break, before Morrisville State's Rebecca Meyer (Morrisville, NY) posted a goal for the Mustangs on a corner pass from Brandi Rafalko (Great Meadows, NJ) minutes into the second half. Oneonta broke open the scoring in the final 20 minutes, adding four additional tallies for the 6-1 final.
Visiting Morrisville State College women's volleyball posted a win over host Oswego State, before falling to D'Youville College in the first round of the Oswego State Tournament Friday night in Oswego. In a tight and even match, the Mustangs fell in the first set 26-24 before rebounding to claim the next two straight for the 2-1 match lead with scores of 26-24, 25-14. Oswego evened the series 2-2 with a 25-21 set win in the fourth, but it was Morrisville State that pulled out the match victory with the 16-14 set win in the fifth game.
Morrisville State College and Time Warner Sports of Central New York have reached an agreement to televise the Mustangs New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) contest game against Western Connecticut State University, on Saturday, October 8th at 12 p.m. at Drake Field on the Morrisville State College campus.
The Morrisville State men's soccer team lost to SUNY Canton Thursday night 5-0. The Mustangs fall to 1-5-3 overall and remain at 1-1-2 in conference play.
The Morrisville State College women's volleyball team rallied from a two set deficit to beat conference opponent SUNY Cobleskill 3-2 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) North Division action Sunday afternoon in Keuka Park. The win boosts the Mustangs to 3-9 overall, 3-4 in conference play, while Cobleskill drops to 4-15, 0-7 in the NEAC.
Visiting University of Rochester netted four first half goals and added two more in the second to top host Morrisville State College field hockey 6-1 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon in Morrisville. Alexis Vangellow (Pittsford, NY) tallied two goals and two assists to lead the Yellow Jackets on the afternoon, including the first score, sweeping the left post drive into the cage at the 17:39 mark.
