Morrisville State hunt seat reserve champion at Hartwick

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team earned reserve high point team honors behind a 33 point team performance Saturday at the Hartwick College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) show held in Otego.



Skidmore won the show with a collective 41 team points. Colgate was third with 32.



Lane Simonin (Tivoli, N.Y.) topped all competition on the day in the novice flat and novice equitation over fences classes, collecting blue ribbons en route to reserve high point rider honors on the day. She also qualified for the regional championships in the novice equitation on the flat class.



Two additional riders collected top honors in the show, including Rachel Kenney (Esperance, N.Y.) in the intermediate equitation over fences class, and Jessica Gurda (Warwick Valley, N.Y.) a blue ribbon in the novice equitation on the flat class.



Rachel Mikrut (Delanson, N.Y.) was third in the advanced walk trot canter class, qualifying for regionals later this month at Skidmore.



Morrisville State returns to the riding arena on Saturday, hosting a double show at the Fearon Road Barn.
