Scott, Lucio named Mustang Athletes of the Week

The Morrisville State College athletics department has named Nijee Scott (Bronx, N.Y.) and Andrew Lucio (Solvay, N.Y.) it's Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 19.



Scott averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists in an 0-2 week for the Mustangs, wrapping up the season on Saturday. Against Cobleskill, Scott nailed 3-of-4 from beyond the arc in her total 14 points, while adding four rebounds, three assists and a steal to her tallies. On Saturday she posted 13 points, collecting nine rebounds, dishing out two assists and recording a block against North Division lead SUNY IT.



The sophomore is a graduate of Harry S. Truman High and is majoring in liberal arts and sciences: humanities and social science at Morrisville State. She is the daughter of Alisa McCluney and Kevin Scott of Bronx.



Lucio averaged 20.0 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Mustangs, adding 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assist and 0.5 steals on average per game. In the overtime victory over Cobleskill, Lucio shot the lights out from downtown, draining 7-of-8 from beyond the arc for a team high 21 points, and followed on Saturday with 19 points in the victory over SUNY IT, hitting 4-of-5 from behind the three-point line. He also added five rebounds and eight assists, wrapping up the regular season.



The junior is a graduate of Solvay High and is majoring in liberal arts and sciences: humanities and social science at Morrisville State. He is the son of Jackie and Rich Lucio of Solvay.
