Both the restaurant and brewery at the Copper Turret serve as teaching facilities for our students, providing them with real-world experiences in the industries of hospitality and food service. The restaurant offers a wireless classroom and learning kitchen, while the brewery provides a true-to-life experience of growing practices and processing raw ingredients, allowing for the production of higher quality beers.
That has proven to be the case, as SUNY Morrisville was named Grand National Champion of the 2018 U.S. Open College Beer Championship. Under the direction of head brewer Micheal Coons, Morrisville took home the honor of the college that brews the best beers in North America.
The restaurant also boasts a nationally recognized head chef in associate professor Kerry Beadle, who was recently named Chef of the Year by the Syracuse Chapter of the American Culinary Federation (ACF).
The Copper Turret prides itself on a delicious and innovative menu, which always features fresh, local ingredients in both its food preparation and beer brewing production. The venue accepts meal payments through your Meal Plan, Dining Plus, Mustang Money, cash, or a credit/debit card. You must be age 21 or over and provide proper ID to purchase beer.
