Morrisville State jumps out to early lead but falls to Lyndon St 3-1

The Morrisville State men's soccer team fell to Lyndon St. in their season opener, 3-1.



Morrisville's Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, M.D.) scored the lone goal of the game just under seven minutes in, putting the Mustangs ahead 1-0.



The Hornets quickly answered back seven minutes later with a goal from Teague Coyle (Northfield, N.H.), assisted by Patrice Lumumba (Burlington, V.T.) who tallied two assists in the game. Shane O'Donnell-Leach (Groton, V.T.) added the Hornets second goal with ten minutes remaining in the half.



Lyndon State's Lumumba scored the lone goal of the second half, assisted by Teague Coyle. Goalkeeper Jason Marks (Newton, C.T.) recorded the win for the Hornets, tallying four saves and one goal against.



Goalkeeper Shane Sullivan (Sherrill, NY) recorded the loss for the Mustangs, playing all 90 minutes, tallying three goals against and five saves.



Morrisville's record is now 0-1 overall. The Mustangs next travel to Rochester Institute of Technology on Wednesday, September 7 at 4pm.
