Morrisville State volleyball takes two in Cazenovia Tournament

Morrisville State College volleyball defeated both Cazenovia College and D'Youville College today in the Cazenovia Dig Pink Tournament.



In the first match, the Mustangs took the Cazenovia Wildcats in four. Cazenovia took the first set 25-19, and the Mustangs followed with three straight set wins 25-13, 25-22, and 25-19 to beat the Wildcats.



Nicole Wright (Dryden, NY) had 12 kills, 13 defensive digs and three serve aces. Sarah Keyser (Honeoye, NY) tallied six kills, one solo block and two assisted blocks.



Angelina Ciaschi (Ithaca, NY) recorded 10 defensive digs and seven kills. Devan Hirst (Cobleskill, NY) had 12 defensive digs.



In the second match, Morrisville won the first two sets 25-14 and 25-12. D'Youville came back to win the third set 25-22. The Mustangs came back in the fourth set 25-19 to win the match.



Wright tallied 13 kills, two serve aces and one assisted block. Ciaschi had serve ace, 11 defensive digs and nine kills. Keyser recorded one solo block, one assisted block and one assist. Hirst had 14 digs in the match.



The Mustangs face Medaille and Oswego at the SUNY Oswego Tournament on Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Morrisville returns home to play Hartwick College on Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. in the John W. Stewart Student Activities Center (STUAC).
