Turner, Wade earn All-Conference honors

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) recently announced its 2010-11 Men's Basketball All-Conference selections, naming Morrisville State's Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) and Dwayne Wade (Beacon, NY) to its second and third team, respectively.



Turner, a junior guard for the Mustangs, earned second team honors after finishing the regular season with 221 points in 15 games (14.7 ppg), 71 assists, 75 rebounds, 41 steals while hitting 57-of-79 from the free throw line. He was 10th overall in the conference in scoring, second in field goal percentage (.597), fourth in assists per game (4.73), 12th in free throw percentage (.722) and third overall in steals per game (2.73). He also led the team in scoring.



The graduate of William Grady High is majoring in individual studies at Morrisville State College.



Wade, sophomore guard, earned third team honors after compiling 288 points in 22 games (13.1 ppg) for the Mustangs. Throughout the season he added 62 steals, 63 assists and 110 rebounds to his tallies, ranking 16th in the conference in scoring and second in steals per game (2.82).



The graduate of Redemption Christian Academy is majoring in business administration at Morrisville State. He is the son of Denise Oliver-Bailey.



Morrisville State concluded the regular season with a 12-12 overall record, 10-8 in conference play, advancing to the conference tournament as the fifth overall seed. They tip-off against fourth seed Gallaudet University Friday at 5 p.m. at tournament host, Penn State Harrisburg.
