The SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus, located 30 miles south of Morrisville, offers personalized education and training to residents and employers of Chenango County and the surrounding area. Currently serving commuter students through a range of delivery methods, the Norwich Campus offers high quality education in our state-of-the-art classrooms.
Programs in this Group
With your B.P.S. degree, you can pursue careers in supervisory and management of human service and social service agencies. Potential roles include program supervisor, case manager, social service director, program director, executive director, case worker, community outreach and client advocate.
Area corrections and police agencies have indicated a strong interest in this program and anticipate openings for graduates. After completing the program, you will be prepared to enter the field in an area such as municipal or state police, county sheriffs’ departments,
New York state and other departments of corrections, court system, corporate security and criminal investigation.
Upon graduation, students are well-prepared for entry-level employment working with individuals, groups, and families at local and regional human service agencies and nonprofits, serving in such roles as counselor, domestic violence advocate, intake specialist, substance abuse case manager, children’s health home case manager, outpatient mental health intake worker, school-based counselor, care coordinator, community educator and direct support professional.
Depending on the academic path you choose, an individual studies degree can prepare you for entry into any number of fields including agriculture, criminal justice, hospitality, healthcare, business, human resources, arts, nonprofit, technology or automotive.
Due to high demand for nurses and our program’s strong reputation in the field, graduating from our nursing program and passing the NCLEX-RN exam opens numerous career opportunities in a variety of settings including hospitals, acute care facilities, long-term care facilities, home health care, community-based agencies, schools, rehabilitative facilities, nursing care facilities, doctors’ offices, insurance carriers, outpatient care centers and travel nursing.
Program graduates will be ready to serve as human service professionals who provide direct support services, personal care assistance and case management services for local or regional nonprofit agencies. Potential roles include case worker aide, social worker assistant, family services assistant, development aide, eligibility specialist, health education specialist, social/community service management, crisis support worker and community outreach specialist.
Facilities
Roger W. Follett Hall serves as the home of the SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus. Follett Hall, located adjacent to the Eaton Center at 20 Conkey Avenue in Norwich, New York, is a modern two-story, technologically enhanced academic building designed to accommodate approximately 1,000 students.
The new Student Wellness Center at the Norwich Campus provides a centralized space where students can decompress, respond to and manage stress, address topics related to health and wellbeing, and connect with peers in a constructive way.
