Veteran's Educational Benefits

SUNY Morrisville congratulates you on your decision to serve our country. Whether you are a veteran, active duty service member, member of the National Guard, reservist or dependent, Morrisville would like to help you achieve your education goals.

Your membership in the U.S. Armed forces may qualify your and your dependents for one or more of the Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits. Find out how to apply for the GI Bill® and other VA education benefits by visiting the VA website.

The Department of Veterans Affairs launched an online GI Comparison Tool to make it easier for veterans, service members and dependents to calculate their Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits and learn more about VA-approved colleges, universities and other education and training programs across the country.

Only currently enrolled students are eligible to receive benefits. If you have questions contact the School Certifying Official for assistance.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government Web site at https://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.

Interested in ROTC?

SUNY Morrisville is proud to partner with Syracuse University’s Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) program. The AFROTC program provides several paths to an Air or Space Force commission for enrolled college students (also called cadets). Students attend AFROTC classes along with other college courses and typically receive elective academic credit. After successfully completing undergraduate degree requirements and meeting AFROTC program objectives, the cadets are commissioned as Air Force officers with a four-year minimum active-duty service commitment. Specific career fields have longer commitments upon completion of specialized training.

The AFROTC program is currently offered on the Syracuse University campus but SUNY Morrisville students may apply to enroll in AFROTC through a cross town agreement between the two institutions. For more information about the AFROTC program at Syracuse University, please visit the webpage linked below.
