The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) released its preseason football coaches poll, selecting Morrisville State College to finish eighth overall in league play in 2012. The Mustangs compiled a 1-9 overall record in 2011, 1-8 in the NJAC, posting the league win over Western Connecticut State. Opening preseason camp Tuesday, Morrisville State returns 17 to the starting lineup this season, including all-conference selections Nate Ryan (Staten Island, N.Y.) on the offensive line and Jeremy Stewart (Moravia, N.Y.) in the secondary.
Morrisville State College head football coach, Terry Dow, recently announced the addition of Travis Greene to the coaching staff for the 2012 season. He will oversee the cornerbacks. Greene comes to Morrisville from the Arizona Rattlers, an Arena Football League team, where he served as an assistant coach and operations intern last season. While with the Rattlers, Greene was responsible for assisting in scouting, conducting defensive line drills, and assisting the coaching staff with several day-to-day organizational operations.
Morrisville State College head women’s basketball coach, Sean Pinkerton, has announced his resignation after three seasons with the program. Pinkerton is leaving Morrisville State for a coaching position at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pinkerton was instrumental in building a program that had compiled just five wins in its first three seasons at the NCAA Division III level, to a program best 10-15 overall record this past year since making the divisional transition.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) recently announced its 2011-12 scholar-athlete selections, naming 19 Morrisville State College student-athletes to the academic honor roll. To be named a scholar-athlete, students must achieve a GPA of 3.4 or higher for the fall and spring semesters combined while participating in a NEAC sponsored sport. On the year, a total of 430 NEAC student-athletes from 16 member institutions earned the academic honor. The following student-athletes at Morrisville State were awarded scholar-athlete accolades:
Morrisville State College students Ibrahim Muya and Stephanie Soto were among those who participated in the 2012 New York State Model Senate Project.   
Morrisville State College Athletic Director, Greg Carroll, has announced the hiring of Fred Wallace as the head coach of the Mustangs women’s volleyball and softball programs. Wallace comes to Morrisville State after nine successful volleyball seasons at Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania, where he also served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee advisor. He currently holds a 220-182 (.547) record at the Division III level in 13 years of coaching collegiate volleyball.
Morrisville State College athletics has announced the addition of Nathan McConnell to the football coaching staff for the upcoming 2012 season. McConnell, a wide receiver and return specialist for the Mustangs from 2009-2011, will oversee the tight ends unit this fall. Appearing in 29 games throughout his career at Morrisville State, he recorded 36 receptions for 494 yards and four touchdown scores, averaging 13.7 yards per catch. On special teams, McConnell returned 17 punts for 89 yards throughout his career, adding 14 kick returns for 210 total yards.
The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its 2012 Division III Mid-Atlantic Women's Lacrosse All-Star Team and individual award winners, naming Morrisville State College freshman attack, Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, N.Y.), its Rookie of the Year.
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its Commissioner's List and All-Academic Team award recipients, with 10 ice hockey student-athletes from Morrisville State earning its academic accolades for the spring 2012 semester.
