The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced last night that Morrisville State College is the host site of the 2012 Men's Basketball Conference Championship Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26. Morrisville State clinched the overall top seed in the tournament after finishing atop the North Division and defeating South Division champion, Penn State Harrisburg, in the two teams' divisional crossover contest in early February.
The Morrisville State College athletics department has named women's basketball guard Nijee Scott (Bronx, N.Y.) and men's basketball guard Andrew Lucio (Solvay, N.Y.) it's Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 12. Scott played a key role in a 3-0 record on the week for the women's team, averaging 14 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 4.0 steals per game for the Mustangs, while shooting 57 percent from the floor on 17-of-30 shots made.
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its players of the week for the week ending February 23, naming Morrisville State College's Nijah Townsend (Bronx, N.Y.) its women's basketball athlete of the week. Townsend led Morrisville State to three victories over the week, including a pair of conference wins, keeping the team's chance for a play-off opportunity alive. Over the course of the week she posted averages of 18.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, while recording on average 22 points and 12.5 boards per game in conference play.
The Morrisville State College western equestrian team finished the regular season Saturday, claiming high point team honors in the morning show and reserve high point team honors in the afternoon at the Morrisville western riding arena. In the morning show, nine riders claimed top class honors to lead Morrisville State to high point team honors with 33 points, including Catherine Howland (Rutlandtown, Vt.) who took the blue ribbon in open reining en route to high point rider honors. Cobleskill was reserve high point team with 19 points.
Junior guard Andrew Lucio (Solvay, N.Y.) chased down an offensive rebound and launched the put back on the baseline to lead Morrisville State College to a 67-65 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over visiting Cazenovia College Saturday afternoon in Morrisville. Morrisville State improves to 15-8 overall with the win, posting a best 12-1 NEAC record. Cazenovia drops to 6-17 overall, 3-10 in conference play.

The Mustangs are now 9-13 overall and 7-7 in the Northeastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) while the Kangaroos dropped to 6-14.
The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team, together with the Morrisville community, raised more than $3,000 Saturday in the battle against Multiple Sclerosis for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The MS Society helps to get each person challenged by the disease moving through research, advocacy, education, along with programs and services that help those living with MS move their lives forward.
The Morrisville State College athletic department has named basketball's Nijah Townsend (Bronx, N.Y.) and Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, N.Y.) it's Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 5.
The Morrisville State College athletics department will host a President's Day Field Hockey Play Day, Monday, February 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Recreation Center on the Morrisville State campus. Players in grades 7-12 are welcome to attend and receive a mini clinic session from Morrisville State head coach Rebecca Osier, and complete the day with 7 versus 7 games. Participants must bring their own equipment and bagged lunch. Snacks and drinks will be available on site for purchase.
