The Morrisville State College athletics department has named sophomore western rider, Amy Meyer (Equinunk, Penn.), and senior men's lacrosse goal keeper, Michael Hinchey (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 25.
After dropping a 5-1 decision in the first of the double header, Morrisville State softball rebounded in the night cap, topping visiting Hamilton College 8-6 Wednesday afternoon in Morrisville.
The Mustangs improve to 4-2 overall, as Hamilton returns with a 5-7 overall record.
Morrisville State tallied just three hits in the contest, two from Nicole Duchene (Oneida, N.Y.) who went 2-for-3 from the plate, and one from Cassandra Smith (Lansing, N.Y.) who recorded a double and an RBI in three at bats.

Jack Martocello (Miller Place, N.Y.) led the Mustangs with four goals while Jeremy Beresovoy (Jamesville, N.Y.) chipped in three goals and Nick Farruggio (Lafayette, N.Y.) had the last goal for Morrisville. Andrew Stein (Oswego, N.Y.) grabbed seven groundballs in the game while Michael Hinchey (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) had seven saves between the pipes.
Visiting SUNY Potsdam posted nine straight scores over a span of 13 minutes en route to a 17-10 victory over Morrisville State College women's lacrosse Sunday afternoon in Morrisville.
The Mustangs drop to 1-4 overall, while the Bears pull even at 3-3.

The Mustangs are now 1-3 overall while the Lakers improve to 2-0.

Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, ONT) grabbed five ground balls for the Mustangs while Alison Falkenburgh (Bayport, NY) had four. Danielle Puzio (Holbrook, NY) posted nine saves in goal for the Mustangs.
The Morrisville State College athletics department has named Lesa Ward (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) and Andrew Stein (Oswego, N.Y.) it's Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 18.
Ward was instrumental to a 1-1 week for the women's lacrosse team, recording two team points on a goal and an assist. Against Westfield on Friday, Ward recorded a team best five draw controls, while adding two ground balls and causing a turnover.

The Morrisville State College women's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season Saturday afternoon by defeating Alfred University 15-14. The Mustangs and Saxons are now both 1-2 on the season. Leading the Mustangs with four goals was Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, NY) while Hillary Hartnett (Fairport, NY) and Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, NY) each had three goals. Wood also led the team with five ground balls while Alison Falkenburgh (Bayport, NY) and Cassie Edmondson (Oshawa, ONT) each grabbed three. Danielle Puzio (Holbrook, NY) had 14 saves between the pipes.
Visiting Westfield State University battled back from a three goal deficit at the break and out scored Morrisville State by five in the second half to claim the 17-15 non-conference victory Friday afternoon in Morrisville.
Westfield picked up their first win of the season (1-1), while the Mustangs dropped to 0-2.
