Morrisville State College's Office of Workforce and Development is offering a free Building Analyst course at the Morrisville campus.

The five-day course will be offered Nov. 7-11 and again Jan. 9-13, 2012, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This training program will help prepare participants for the Building Performance Institute's Building Analyst online and field tests and will cover topics including how the house works as a system, why some homes fail, and how to use the latest building science technology to help resolve residential heating, cooling and base load air leakage problems.

The course is being taught by Dave Abrey, director of quality assurance for GreenHomes America. Prior to working at GreenHomes, Abrey managed quality assurance for NYSERDA's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program as the director of quality assurance for Conservation Services Group (CSG). He was also the project manager for the energy retrofit project completed on the Statue of Liberty in New York City.
