Morrisville State students receive Caterpillar/Milton CAT Scholarships

Five Morrisville State students have been awarded Caterpillar/Milton CAT Scholarships by the Morrisville College Foundation.



The $2,500 scholarships, awarded to students in the diesel technology/agricultural engineering programs, are based on academic achievement and financial need.



Receiving scholarships were the following students:

  • Cord DePalma, a diesel equipment technology freshman from Orange, Conn. DePalma is a member of the college's Agricultural Engineering Club.
  • Tyler Kulikowski, an agricultural engineering freshman from Bath. Kulikowski is a member of the lacrosse team.
  • Jordan Shurtleff, a diesel equipment technology freshman from Strafford, NH. A member of the Ag Engineering Club, Shurtleff has received numerous scholarships, including The Clarence Sprague-John West NH Grange Foundation, NH Trustees of The Eastern States Expo, Northeast Loggers Association, Granite State Antique Auto Club, NH Snowmobile Association, Strafford Garden Club, Coe Brown Northwood Academy Alumni and George N. Cate Memorial. He has also received awards from FFA on the local, state and national level-FFA Chapter and State Star Farmer, FFA State Degree and FFA Martin L. Mitchel Personal Growth Award. He is the son of Eric and Lisa Shurtleff, of Province Road, Strafford, NH.
  • Jacob Drabot, a diesel equipment technology senior from Central Square. In addition to being named to the Dean's list, Drabot received the Caterpillar/Milton CAT Scholarship as a freshman, the Tracy Road Equipment Student Excellence Award, CNY Truck Association Scholarship, and the William Bonney Scholarship. He is the son of Noreen and Robert Drabot, of Central Square.
  • Bradley Fontaine, a diesel equipment technology senior from Strykersville. Fontaine is president of the Agricultural Engineering Club.

Caterpillar is the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, industrial gas turbines, and diesel and natural gas engines. They donate and loan Morrisville State the most current diesel engines and equipment, allowing students to learn with the latest technology in the industry. CAT also offers student internships and hires many graduates.
