Visiting Nazareth College field hockey used a five goal first half to top host Morrisville State College by a 7-3 final Friday afternoon in Morrisville. Morrisville State falls to 2-11 overall, while the Golden Flyers improve to 2-9. Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, N.Y.) led the Mustangs with a goal and two assists, while teammates Rebecca Meyer (Morrisville, N.Y.) and Rebecca Quackenbush (Barker, N.Y.) each added one tally apiece.

The Morrisville State College athletics department has named Amanda Hunt (Tunkhannock, Pa.) and Nate Ryan (Staten Island, N.Y.) it’s Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 30.

Visiting Oswego State dropped the first match and rallied to win the next three, claiming the 3-1 match win over Morrisville State College Wednesday night in Morrisville. Morrisville State drops to 3-10 overall, while Oswego pulls even at 9-9. The Mustangs topped the Lakers 25-22 in the first match before falling 13-25, 20-25 and 19-25 in the next three in the loss.

Despite giving up the first goal to Alfred University, the Morrisville State College men’s soccer team came back with three unanswered goals, to beat the Saxons 3-1 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon. After playing a scoreless first 30 minutes, Alfred University struck first when freshman Nicholas Carey scored off a pass from senior forward Eric Rockwood, giving the Saxons a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

The women's volleyball team won its second match in a row as the Hawks defeated SUNY Morrisville 3-1 (25-15, 25-17, 26-28, 25-18) on Tuesday evening at Lambros Arena on Dig Pink Night. With the win, Hartwick's record is now 5-11 while the Mustangs fall to 3-9.

Visiting Union College field hockey tallied five first half scores, en route to a 6-2 non-conference victory over host Morrisville State College Tuesday afternoon on Drake Field in Morrisville. The win lifts the Dutchmen to 3-6 overall, while Morrisville State drops to 2-10.

Visiting Morrisville State College women’s volleyball picked up their third win of the 2012 season, topping host Utica College 3-1 in a thrilling match Sunday afternoon in Utica. Morrisville State improves to 3-8 overall, claiming the victory with set scores of 28-26, 25-22, 21-25 and 25-14.

Morrisville State College put together their best offensive effort to date on the season, but fell short as visiting Kean University collected the 51-28 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) win Saturday afternoon during Mustang Weekend (Homecoming) in Morrisville. The Mustangs fall to 0-5 overall, 0-3 in NJAC play, while Kean pulls even at 2-2, improving to 2-0 in conference action.

Morrisville State College women’s volleyball dropped two matches Saturday afternoon at the SUNY Canton tri-match, falling 3-0 to host Canton, before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Oswego. The Mustangs fall to 2-8 overall, and return to the court Tuesday, traveling to Hartwick for a non-conference match. Canton claimed the first match with set scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-11 behind a nine kill performance by Jessica Reynolds.

Release courtesy of Michael Nosek BENNINGTON, Vt. – The Southern Vermont College women’s soccer team defeated the Mustangs of Morrisville St., 2-0, on Thursday afternoon.  The Mountaineers had goals scored by junior Kaitlyn Forant (Hardwick, Vt.) and senior Shawnee Webster (Hoosick, N.Y.).

Morrisville State College athletic director, Greg Carroll, has named Steven Kaneshiki the head coach of the women’s basketball program for the 2012-2013 season. Kaneshiki comes to Morrisville State from The College at Brockport where he served as assistant coach for the past season, serving as recruiting coordinator while working with the post players and assisting with day-to-day operations of the program.

Morrisville State College men’s soccer outshot the visiting Albany College of Pharmacy Panthers 35 to 3 in non-conference action Thursday evening in Morrisville, N.Y. Jacob Chase (, N.Y.) tallied both goals for Morrisville State, helping the Mustangs to improve to 6-3-1 overall.

Visiting SUNY Geneseo field hockey posted five first half goals enroute to an 8-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over host Morrisville State College Wednesday afternoon in Morrisville. The loss drops the Mustangs to 2-8 overall on the season and 0-4 in conference play, while the Knights improve to 4-3 overall, 2-0 in SUNYAC action.

The Morrisville State College volleyball team posted a 3-2 victory over Penn State Harrisburg in the first round of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) cross over play, but dropped the following two matches to go 1-2 on the weekend at Wells College. Morrisville State falls to 2-5 overall, 1-3 in conference play.

Despite outshooting Wilson College 22 to 12, the Morrisville State College women’s soccer team couldn’t find the back of the net and fell 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Mustangs drop to 0-6-1 overall and 0-5 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play.

The Morrisville State men’s and women’s cross country teams race to 5th and 10thplace finishes, respectively, while recording some of their fastest times this season.       

Host Morrisville State College field hockey cruised to a non-conference win Sunday afternoon, topping visiting Becker College 10-0 on Drake Field in Morrisville. The Mustangs improve to 2-7 overall, while Becker drops to 0-8.

The College of St. Elizabeth scored two first half goals on their way to a 3-0 win over Morrisville State College in North Eastern Athletic Conference(NEAC) women’s soccer action Sunday afternoon in New Jersey. Christina Rios, Cassidy Crane scored for the Eagles in the first half with Valerie Lasko adding a goal in the 2nd half to finish up the scoring on the afternoon.

Visiting SUNY Cortland football capitalized on four Mustang turnovers Saturday night, leading to a 56-14 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) victory over host Morrisville State College on Drake Field in Morrisville. Morrisville State drops to 0-4 overall, 0-2 in NJAC play, while Cortland improves to 2-1, 2-0 in conference action.

Host SUNY Brockport posted two scores in the first 17 minutes of the contest to claim the 2-0 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over visiting Morrisville State College field hockey Saturday afternoon in Brockport. Morrisville State drops to 1-7 overall, 0-3 in conference play, while the Golden Eagles improve to 4-2, and even their SUNYAC record at 1-1.

Four Morrisville State College students have been awarded the American Hotel and Lodging Association Scholarship (AHLEF). The AHLEF scholarships are awarded to sophomore students based on academic performance, hospitality work experience, extracurricular involvement, financial need and personal attributes.

The Morrisville State College men’s soccer team has partnered up with the Italian American Coalition for Kids (IACKids), as part of the programs continued community outreach efforts. Proceeds from gate receipts on Saturday, Oct. 6 against Penn State Berks, along with raffles and the online jersey auction will benefit the program.
