Morrisville State College will host a presentation by bestselling mob author, Dennis Griffin, on Oct. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the Little Theatre of the James W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC).
The event, which is sponsored by the Criminal Justice Department and the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) faculty/staff and students, is free and open to the public.

Steve Law intentionally had his pole barn built facing south on his picturesque, 13-acre property with future plans to install solar panels that would offset some of his energy costs.
The hefty price tag on a new solar system kept his plans at bay until recently when he heard about Solarize Madison, a program that's helping home owners, businesses and others install solar energy panels at a discounted rate with fewer hurdles.

Katie McIntyre, Jamie Anderson and Marc Wirasnik represented Morrisville State College showing and competing at various events during a 12-week internship at the college's draft horse barn.

Morrisville State College recently served up some of its tasty local fare on Capitol Hill.
The college showcased an array of food samples during New York Farm Day held in Washington DC on Sept. 12, an annual event which boasts New York state agricultural products.
The event, sponsored by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, attracted approximately 700 federal officials, guests, area restaurant operators and media.

Katy Kemmeren has something new to add to her resume.
The Morrisville State College student spent the last few months coordinating the college's annual Autumn Review Sale as part of her senior year internship.
Kemmeren, an agricultural business development bachelor degree major, was among more than 90 students in various majors who pitched in during Morrisville State College annual Autumn Review Sale, which marked its 30th anniversary this year.

The Morrisville College Equine Institute will hold its twenty-third annual Fall Yearling Sale Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at the college's Nancy Sears Stowell Arena on Swamp Road. The preview day for the sale, the largest of its kind in New York state, is Sept. 23.

A team of four-legged favorites moved into Morrisville State College's building for the duration of The Great New York State Fair which runs Aug. 23-Sept. 3.
Fair-goers can learn more about the horses; a Belgian gelding, a Percheron mare, a Standardbred brood mare with a filly foal, and a Paint cross, at the college's building located near Gate 4 by the Coca-Cola Coliseum and the Iroquois Indian Village.

The Country Jam will take place on July 13 from 2 to 11 p.m. and July 14 from noon to 11 p.m. on the home field of the Madison-Bouckville Antique Festival, located on Route 20 in Bouckville. There will be an impressive lineup of today’s top country music artists, followed by firework displays after the last performances.

Morrisville State College's Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) will be offering a two day hands-on workshop, Renewable Energy Beyond the Classroom, designed for K-12 teachers.
The workshop, which will explore renewable energy and assembling real systems, will be held on July 19 and 20 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in Shannon and Galbreath Halls. Sessions include: Solar Overview and Solar Thermal Installation, Biodiesel, Microhydro Installation and Wood Gasification.

Morrisville State College liberal arts students were honored for their achievements during the 12th annual Liberal Arts Tea. The event is part of the college's annual celebration of academic excellence.
The Liberal Arts Theater Participant-of-the-Year Award, given to a student who excels in theater productions on campus or assisting with productions, was presented to Billie Gadway, of Tupper Lake, N.Y., a human performance and health promotion student.

A sea of green decorated the Morrisville State College recreation center during the college's 101st commencement exercises held today.
Graduates donned green caps and gowns and celebrated alongside family and friends amid a stage adorned with a lavish display of flowers, grown by students in the college's horticulture program and arranged by graduating seniors from the program.

Not a day goes by that Morrisville State College equine student Katrina McAllister doesn't think about her best friend, Laura Janson. She remembers most her driving spirit and how much she loved animals. The promising Morrisville State College student, who naturally connected with everyone, was a role model to McAllister who was four years younger and boarded her horse at the Janson home in North Chittenango.

May 19 will be one of the brightest days in Samantha Wackford's life.
The 27-year-old Guyana native will cross the stage with fellow Morrisville State College classmates and receive her diploma during the college's commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. in the recreation center. She will receive an associate degree in human services from the college's Norwich campus.
Wackford views graduation like every other journey in her life—with bold optimism.
