Dr. Bibbins shares her remarkable life story and illustrates the courageous actions individual children undertook in the desegregation of schools. Dr. Bibbins grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia, and attended kindergarten at Sacred Heart School in Norfolk, Our Lady of Victory elementary school, Cradock Jr. High School, and Cradock High School (1964-1969) during the years of desegregation of Virginia's schools.

He will then conclude with the Civil and Voting Rights Acts of 1964 and 1965.

This survey history offers a concise tale of how the question of slavery was fundamental in causing the Civil War and sparking one of the most important amendments to date.

For years, the islands have been the home of the Gullah Geechee but recently property and land itself have become a source of conflict. This brief historical introduction sets the stage for discussing the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, the case proceedings, and the prospects for race relations in the Golden Isles.

In this presentation, Victoria Basulto travels to Galveston, Texas to visit sites of historical importance to the Juneteenth celebration. Juneteenth commemorates the day that General Gordon Granger read out General Order No. 3 to the people of Galveston on June 19, 1865. The order proclaimed to the enslaved of Texas that they were now free, months after the end of the Civil War and years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
