The Morrisville State College western equestrian team narrowly escaped competition Saturday afternoon, collecting their fifth and sixth wins of the season to remain undefeated. In the first of the double show, the Mustangs posted 32 team points to collect show champion honors, while Colgate University earned reserve champion honors with 30 team points. Catherine Howland (Rutlandtown, VT) earned reserve high point rider honors, placing second in both the open horsemanship and reining classes.
Visiting College of St. Elizabeth women's basketball picked up a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win Sunday afternoon, cruising to the 80-55 victory over host Morrisville State College in Morrisville. Morrisville State drops to 5-18 overall, 5-15 in conference action. Diane Da Silva led the Soaring Eagles with 22 points, adding 10 assists for the double-double performance while teammate Maesoon Deeb contributed 21 while grabbing 15 boards. Sabrina Jarmolinski rounded out top scoring for St. Elizabeth with 18 points.
The Morrisville State College men's basketball team posted their fifth straight victory Sunday afternoon, rolling to a 96-63 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over Route 20 rival Cazenovia College in Morrisville. The win boosts Morrisville State to 11-11 overall, 9-7 in conference play, while Cazenovia drops to 4-18, 4-13 in NEAC action. The Mustangs led 42-32 at the break before exploding in the second half, hitting 9-of-13 from behind the arc while posting 54 points en route to the win.
Freshman Vanessa Whitfield (Chambersburg, PA) netted a team high 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead visiting Wilson College women's basketball to a 60-53 victory over Morrisville State College Saturday night. Wilson improves to 3-19 overall, 2-18 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action, while Morrisville State drops to 5-17 overall, 5-14 in conference play.
The Morrisville State College ice hockey team posted the biggest upset victory of the program Saturday night, topping #1 nationally ranked Oswego State 5-2 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action in Oswego. The win gives the Mustangs an 11-10-1 overall record and 8-5-1 SUNYAC record, while Oswego falls to 20-3-0, dropping their first contest in conference play (13-1).
Senior goalie Caylin Relkoff (Grand Forks, BC/Huntsville Muskoka Otters) turned aside 25 shots and four different players scored goals as the Morrisville St. men's hockey team skated to a 4-0 win versus Cortland Friday night in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons fell to 5-16-2 overall and 4-9-1 in the conference. The Mustangs improved to 10-10-1 and 7-5-1. Junior goalie Brittan Kuhlman (Omaha, NE/Winnipeg Saints) made 42 saves for the Red Dragons.
The Morrisville State College athletic department has named women's basketball sophomore, Keyla Arce (Bronx, NY) and junior men's basketball student-athlete, Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 6. Arce, guard, led the women's team to a 1-2 week, recording 49 points, 25 rebounds and eight assists in three games. In the upset victory over Penn State Berks, Arce tallied 22 points and 12 boards, shooting .471 percent from the floor.

The win improves the Mustangs to 10-11 overall, 8-7 in conference action. Wells drops to 11-10 overall, 11-4 in NEAC play. A back-and-forth battle, Wells hit a three at the end of the first half to post a four point lead at the break.
Host SUNY Oneonta won seven of 10 matches Wednesday night enroute to a 31-10 victory over Morrisville State College wrestling in Oneonta. Junior 125 pounder Justin Delamothe (Cross River, NY) put Morrisville State ahead early, recording a technical fall over David Bailen by a 15-0 final, but Oneonta posted wins in the next four matches to take a commanding lead.
