The Morrisville State College softball team swept Wells College in double header action Thursday afternoon in Aurora, topping the express 14-2 in game one (five innings) and edging a comeback attempt, 16-14, in game two.
Morrisville State improves to 13-13 overall, 10-4 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action, while Wells dropped to 1-17 overall, 1-13 in NEAC play.

When it is all said and done, one team will drive away the winner of the FORD/AAA Motor Company Student Auto Skills Competition being held at Morrisville State College on May 12.

Morrisville State College liberal arts students were recently honored for their achievements during the 10th annual Liberal Arts Tea. The event is part of the college's annual celebration of academic excellence.
The Liberal Arts Theater Participant-of-the-Year Award, given to a student who excels in theater productions on campus or assisting with productions, was presented to Corey Tighe, of Patchogue, N.Y., a wood products technology major.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office has announced its weekly award winners, naming Morrisville State College's Adam Lewis (Painted Post, NY) the Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 17.
Lewis, senior attackman for the Mustangs, led the team to a 2-0 week, including a 1-0 record in conference action. He posted 15 goals on 20 shots, tallied two assists, and collected seven ground balls.

The Morrisville State College women's softball team boosted their conference record to 8-4, sweeping rival Cazenovia College in double-header action by 6-2 and 8-7 final scores Tuesday afternoon in Morrisville.
Morrisville State has a 11-13 overall record, and continues to be a threat in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), currently ranking third overall in the North Division.

Morrisville State College will host a public meeting on the Facilities Master Plan on April 26, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., in the John W. Stewart Center for Student Activities (STUAC) Theatre. In February, consultants working on the plan met with members of the Morrisville State College community to gather public input and ideas regarding the role of the college in the community. This meeting will give consultants the opportunity to share the results of several months work on the plan.

Morrisville State College hunt seat rider, Teal Pederson (Manorville, NY) has earned a chance to compete for a national title in May at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships held in Lexington, Kentucky.
Pederson initially placed third in the intermediate equitation over fences class at the Zone Championships on Saturday, but advances due to an ineligible rider that placed first in the class.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its student-athletes of the week, naming Morrisville State College's Hillary Hartnett (Fairport, NY) it's West Division Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 10.
This is the second time Hartnett has received the award this season.
Hartnett led Morrisville State to a 2-0 week (2-0 in conference play).

Teal Pedersen (Manorville, NY) played third overall in the intermediate equitation over fences and sixth in the intermediate equitation on the flat classes.
