The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team turned up the heat in the second and third periods to post an upset victory over the visiting #15 nationally ranked Neumann College Knights by a 4-1 final in Morrisville. Morrisville State improves to 7-5-1 overall with the non-conference win, while Neumann drops to 8-5-3. The Knights were first to strike, as Mat Valois (Ottawa, ONT) put Neumann's only score past Morrisville State goaltender, Colin Breen (Waterloo, ONT), 3:23 into the period.
The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey program has teamed up with Saves For A Cure, Saturday, February 5th in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contest against SUNY Plattsburgh. Saves For A Cure is a non-profit organization founded by former SUNY Brockport goaltender and cancer survivor, Todd Sheridan, aimed to help children with their battle against cancer. The program assists in enhancing hospital stays for children undergoing cancer treatments at the James P Wilmot Cancer Center in Rochester.
The Morrisville State College athletic department has named women's basketball freshman, Nijah Townsend (Bronx, NY) and junior hockey defenseman Tom Longland (Dunnville, ONT) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the period of January 1 to January 9. Townsend averaged 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game for the Mustangs in a 0-2 weekend. Against Berks, she tallied 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and turned around the following day and led Morrisville with 16 points and 14 boards.

Visiting Cazenovia College women's basketball claimed a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Wednesday night, topping host Morrisville State College 62-51 in Morrisville. Cazenovia held a 28-22 lead at the break before shooting 51.9 percent from the floor in the second half en route to the win.
Visiting Penn State Abington women's basketball team picked up their first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Sunday afternoon, topping host Morrisville State College 60-50 in Morrisville. Abington opened the game with an 18-0 run over the first eight minutes before Nijee Scott (Bronx, NY) hit two free throws to put the Mustangs on the board. Plagued by turnovers and poor shooting from the floor in the first half, the Nittany Lions built up a 36-14 lead over Morrisville State at the break.

Morrisville State shot 52.9 percent from the floor and raced out to a 48-30 lead at the break, fueled by 15 first half points from Dwayne Wade (Beacon, NY), adding 46 second half points en route to the win.

LaQuiesha Jenkins (Syracuse, NY) led the Mustangs comeback attempt in the second half, hitting three straight from behind the arc to pull Morrisville State within 11, but Berks hit key free throws to seal the victory.
Penn State Berks posted two late field goals to edge host Morrisville State College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action Saturday afternoon, posting the 65-62 victory in Morrisville. With Morrisville State leading by as many as four in the second half, Berks clawed their way back into the game, taking the lead with 1:33 to go on a Michael Perone jumper for the one-point advantage. Shawn Green added a lay-up with 16 seconds remaining to seal the victory for the Nittany Lions.
