The Morrisville State College athletic department has named hunt seat open rider Keeley O'Hara (Cazenovia, NY) and ice hockey's netminder Colin Breen (Waterloo, ONT) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 30.

Host Nazareth College posted a comeback victory over visiting Morrisville State College, scoring four straight, including three in the second half, as they topped the Mustangs 4-1 in non-conference action at Nazareth. Morrisville State concludes the 2011 season with a 1-17 overall record. Sarah Angerer (Cooperstown, NY) netted the lone score for the Mustangs 12:42 into the first half, as Rebecca Quackenbush (Barker, NY) collected the assist.

The Morrisville State College hunt seat equestrian team compiled 35 team points, just one shy of reserve show champion Hartwick, to place third overall at the Hartwick College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational Saturday in Oneonta. Skidmore was show champion with 43 team points, followed by Hartwick with 36. Albany tallied 34 for fourth, Colgate 31, Cobleskill 30, Oneonta 25, RPI 20, Sienna 20 and Union 12 to round out team scoring.

Morrisville State College had five earn North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Cross Country All-Conference honors following their performance at the conference championships.

William Paterson (3-5, 2-5 NJAC) overcame blizzard-like conditions, kicking a late field goal to defeat Morrisville State (1-7, 1-6 NJAC), 17-15, during a snowstorm Oct. 29 at Wightman Stadium.

Morrisville State College freshman Greg Johnsmeyer (West Hurley, N.Y) was the first rookie to cross the finish line at Saturday's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships held at SUNY Cobleskill, earning him the NEAC's inaugural Rookie of the Year award.

Kiersten Ryan scored twice to lead host RPI to a 5-3 victory over visiting Morrisville State College field hockey Saturday afternoon in Troy. The Mustangs drop to 1-16 on the season. Ryan registered two quick tallies for RPI within the first five minutes of the contest, before Alissa Peterson added another for the three goal advantage just eight minutes in.

Sophomore Taylor Vince (Barrie, ONT) scored once and assisted another to lead the Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team to a season opening 4-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over SUNY Potsdam Friday night in Morrisville. Geoff Matzel (Chittenango, NY), Todd Hosmer (Scarborough, ONT), and Patrick Stillar (Burlington, ONT) each tallied a goal for the Mustangs in the victory.

Visiting Morrisville State College field hockey was able to muster a score late in the game, but fell short on time as host St. John Fisher College collected the 3-1 non-conference victory Wednesday night. Rebecca Meyer (Morrisville, NY) tallied the lone score for the Mustangs, notching the unassisted goal in the 65th minute after defeating the defense downfield for the score.

With time running out during Tuesday afternoon's pivotal North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) showdown with Morrisville State, the Keuka College men's soccer team got a huge tying goal late in regulation to keep its postseason dreams alive. The Storm (8-4-2, 5-3-1 NEAC) rallied to earn a point with a hard-fought 2-2 overtime draw with the Mustangs on a windy afternoon at the Jephson Community Athletic Complex.

The Wells College women's soccer team scored less than two minutes into play and held on to defeat the visiting Morrisville State Mustangs 4-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Aurora. Paige Stone (Madison, N.Y.) scored two goals, Shannon Blanford (Fayetteville, N.Y.) added one goal and two assists, and Savannah Tucker (Rochester, N.Y.) chipped in with one goal to lead the Express.

Skidmore was show champion with 46 team points, followed by Morrisville and Hartwick each with 32.

The Morrisville State Mustangs men's soccer team battle back from a 1-0 first half deficit to stun the Wells College Express 2-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action Saturday afternoon in Aurora. Matt Doran (Marathon, N.Y.) scored the go ahead goal with less than three minutes remaining to pace the Mustangs (4-8-3, 4-3-2 NEAC). Jonathan Mulcahey (Fulton, N.Y.) scored the lone goal for the Express, who fell to 6-9 (3-5 NEAC) on the year.

Nationally ranked #19 Kean University posted the 26-13 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) victory over visiting Morrisville State College football Saturday afternoon in Union, New Jersey, behind a 157 yard rushing and two touchdown performance by Darius Kinney. Morrisville State drops to 1-6 overall, 1-5 in conference play, while the Cougars improve to 6-1, 5-1 in NJAC action.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) released its 2011-12 preseason men's ice hockey poll coaches poll, ranking Morrisville State College sixth overall. Oswego earned the top spot, followed by Plattsburgh, Geneseo, Fredonia and Buffalo State. Brockport is ranked seventh, followed by Cortland and Potsdam.

Visiting Oswego State Lakers needed extra time to get past Morrisville State field hockey, pulling off a 5-4 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory over the Mustangs Wednesday night in Morrisville. Morrisville State drops to 1-13 overall (0-6 in conference play) while Oswego improves to 7-10 overall, 2-4 in SUNYAC action.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named Sanley Pierre-Louis (Gaithersburg, MD) the male athlete of the week and Erin Rundle (Marathon, NY) and Rebecca Quackenbush (Barker, NY) the co-female athletes of the week for the week ending October 16. Pierre-Louis led the men's soccer team in the 4-1 win over Gallaudet, recording two goals, including the game winner as the men's team improved to 3-3-2 in conference play on Sunday.
