Morrisville State College's Office of Workforce and Development is offering a free course in Basic Air Sealing and Insulation (BASI), Oct. 21 from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Morrisville campus.
The one-day overview of BASI will introduce students to the fundamental concepts of Building Science and Building Performance, in addition to the “systems approach” and techniques for air sealing and insulation.

The Morrisville State College women's volleyball team rallied from a two set deficit to beat conference opponent SUNY Cobleskill 3-2 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) North Division action Sunday afternoon in Keuka Park.
The win boosts the Mustangs to 3-9 overall, 3-4 in conference play, while Cobleskill drops to 4-15, 0-7 in the NEAC.

Nationally 18th-ranked Cortland scored touchdowns on seven of its first eight possessions to take a 48-0 halftime lead and the Red Dragons (3-1, 3-1 NJAC) defeated Morrisville State, 55-14, in the Red Dragons' second-ever home night football game.

The Morrisville State College women's volleyball team dropped two conference contests Saturday, falling 3-0 to Keuka and 3-0 to SUNY IT in Keuka at the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) pool play.
Keuka claimed the victory with set wins of 25-13, 25-6, and 25-17. SUNY IT topped Morrisville State with a 25-9, 25-18, and 25-9 match win.
Morrisville State falls to 2-9 overall, 2-4 in conference play.

Visiting University of Rochester netted four first half goals and added two more in the second to top host Morrisville State College field hockey 6-1 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon in Morrisville.
Alexis Vangellow (Pittsford, NY) tallied two goals and two assists to lead the Yellow Jackets on the afternoon, including the first score, sweeping the left post drive into the cage at the 17:39 mark.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named women's soccer midfielder, Krista Baxter (Downsville, NY) the Mustang Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 25.
Baxter led Morrisville State to a 1-1-1 week, recording three goals, including the game winner 33 seconds into the double overtime period over Wilson College on Sunday.

The Morrisville State College women's soccer team partnered up with Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, located in Syracuse, N.Y., to become part of the effort to find a cure for children's cancer. As of last year, President Obama recognized the month of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, represented by a gold ribbon.

The Morrisville State College athletic department will be auctioning off commemorative white and pink jerseys bearing the “Mustangs Against Cancer” logo from now until Thursday, October 6th to help support the Carol M. Baldwin Research Fund of CNY.
The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc. supports both new and established researchers investigating the causes, prevention and treatment of breast cancer.

The Morrisville State College athletic department invites all area children to take part in the NCAA Football's 17th annual “Take a Kid to the Game” (TAKG) program as the Mustangs take on Western Connecticut State University, Saturday, October 8 at 12 p.m. in the college's stadium. Kids, ages 12 and younger, will receive free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket.

On a sunny Sunday afternoon the Morrisville State College women's soccer team scored :33 seconds into the second overtime to beat Wilson College 1-0.
The Mustangs dominated the game, taking 35 shots to Wilson's three, but was unable to convert on their opportunities through regulation and the first overtime period.

Austin Townsley and Amanda Hunt both posted personal bests Saturday at the Hylander Invitational held at Houghton College.
Townsley ran a 26:59.18 in the 8k placing 19th, while Hunt posted a time of 20:44.31 in the 5k race finishing 62nd.
Overall the men's team finished 10th out of 16 teams and the women finished 11th out of 11 teams.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office has announced its weekly award winners, naming Morrisville State College's Austin Townsley (Horseheads, NY) the Co-Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 18.
This is the second time Townsley has been name NEAC Athlete of the Week for the 2011 season.

The Mustangs were first to score when Jeffrey Sekyere (Bronx, N.Y.) placed a deflection from David Cerasani (Beaver Meadow, N.Y.) past Hawks goalkeeper Kamil Cislak (Lancaster, N.Y.) with just under 10 minutes left to play in the first half.

Women's soccer takes early lead, but falls to SUNY IT 5-1.
Kara Collins (New Berlin, N.Y.) put the Morrisville State women's soccer team out to an early 1-0 lead scoring off of a cross from Erin Rundle (Marathon, N.Y.) five minutes into the match.
SUNY IT answered back with two goals from Nicole DiNitto (Oriskany, N.Y.), making the score 2-1 Wildcats at half time.
