Visiting SUNY Cobleskill women’s basketball posted 48 points in the second to top host Morrisville State College by a 79-49 final in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action Tuesday night in Morrisville. The Mustangs drop to 1-23 overall, 1-15 in NEAC play, in the home finale, while Cobleskill improves to an 8-14 mark, 7-9 in conference action.
Seniors Andrew Lucio (Syracuse, N.Y.), Brandon Henry (Harlem, N.Y.) and Ryan Jameson (Greenwich, N.Y.) combined for 44 points Tuesday night, leading Morrisville State men’s basketball to a decisive 106-69 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over visiting SUNY Cobleskill, on senior night in Morrisville. The win lifts the Mustangs to 18-5 overall, 12-2 in conference action. Cobleskill drops to 5-19 overall, 3-11 in the NEAC.
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2012 fall academic awards, naming Morrisville State College field hockey student-athletes Jamie Anderson (Harpursville, N.Y.) and Megan Coffey (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) to its All-Academic Team. To be eligible for SUNYAC All-Academic team recognition the nominated student-athlete must have a fall semester grade point average of 3.3 or higher while participating in a conference sponsored sport.
Visiting Morrisville State College women’s basketball struggled in the first half Saturday afternoon, dropping a 61-40 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) decision to host Cazenovia College in Cazenovia. The Mustangs drop to 1-22 overall on the season, 1-14 in conference play. Jasmine Oakes (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Courtney Coley (Bronx, N.Y.) each posted 10 points to lead the Morrisville State efforts, as Coley collected the double-double with a team high 11 rebounds, nine on the offensive glass.
Visiting Morrisville State College staged a come-from-behind victory Saturday afternoon, putting together a 17-7 run to edge host Cazenovia College by a 63-58 final in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action in Cazenovia. Morrisville State improves to 17-5 overall, 11-2 in the NEAC, while Cazenovia drops to 6-16.
The Morrisville State College athletics department will host a President’s Day Field Hockey Clinic, Monday, Feb. 18 for modified, junior varsity and varsity field hockey level field players in the Recreation Center on the Morrisville State campus. Modified and junior varsity level players are scheduled for clinical instruction from Morrisville State head coach Becky Osier from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., with varsity following from 12 – 3 p.m. All clinic attendees must bring their own equipment, including stick, mouth guard, goggles and shin guards.
Junior forward Ashley Roser (Taberg, N.Y.) tallied 28 points and grabbed a game high 20 rebounds to lead the visiting Wells College Express women’s basketball team past host Morrisville State College by a 59-48 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) final Wednesday night in Morrisville. Morrisville State drops to 1-21 overall, 1-13 in conference play, while the Express improve to 12-10 and remain in a fight for the top spot in the Northern Division with an 11-3 NEAC record.
Juniors Mickey Davis (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Jordan Prior (Cortland, N.Y.) combined for 33 points Wednesday night to lead host Morrisville State College men’s basketball past visiting Wells College by a 77-65 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) final in Morrisville. The Mustangs improve to 16-5 overall, 10-2 in conference play, while the Express drop to 9-13, 5-7 in the NEAC.
Visiting Morrisville State College women’s basketball fell behind early and was unable to recover as host Penn State Harrisburg posted the 57-43 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win Sunday afternoon in Middletown. Morrisville State drops to 1-20 overall, 1-12 in conference play. The Nittany Lions improve to 14-6, and reach the 10-3 mark in NEAC action.
Visiting Morrisville State College men’s basketball struggled Sunday afternoon against the reigning southern division champion, and as a result had their 12-game win streak snapped, as host Penn State Harrisburg collected a 70-58 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory in Middletown. The Mustangs, who sit at the top of the conference with a 9-2 record, drop to 15-5 overall on the season. Harrisburg improves to 10-12 overall, 7-4 in conference action.
