The Morrisville State College athletic department has named Akiella Parks (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and Jordan Parks (Cortland, N.Y.) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending February 17. Parks posted her first collegiate double-double earlier in the week, netting 12 points and snagging 10 rebounds in the loss to Cobleskill. She added seven points and nine boards as the Mustangs wrapped up the season Saturday at SUNYIT, to average 9.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. 
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2012-13 Men’s Basketball All-Conference teams, naming three from Morrisville State to its first and third teams. 
The Morrisville State College men’s basketball team finished atop the North Division of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) standings for the second straight year, earned the right to host the 2012-13 championship tournament, and will meet conference rival Penn State Harrisburg (12-14, 8-7 NEAC) in the semifinal round scheduled for Saturday, February 23 on the Morrisville State campus. 
The Morrisville State hunt seat equestrian team compiled 35 points to take home show reserve champion honors, along with Hartwick, at the Skidmore College Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) invitational Saturday in Saratoga Springs. Skidmore won the event with 49 team points, while Colgate and Cobleskill rounded out the top five with 32 and 26 points, respectively. Amanda Varall (Bohemia, N.Y.) qualified for the regional championships in the walk trot canter class, following her blue ribbon performance in the advanced class.
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced its 2013 Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament pairings Sunday, with Morrisville State College topping the tournament field. Morrisville State completed its 2012-13 schedule on Saturday, recording a 19-5 overall record, and 13-2 mark in conference play, claiming the North Division regular season title for the second straight year.
Morrisville State College women’s basketball fell in the season finale 86-63 to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent and host SUNYIT Saturday afternoon in Marcy. The Mustangs complete the season with a 1-24 overall record, 1-16 in conference action. SUNY IT improves to 14-8 overall.
Visiting Morrisville State College men’s basketball used a 20-6 run in the opening minutes of the second period Saturday afternoon to close out the regular season with a 96-75 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over host SUNYIT in Marcy. The Mustangs improve to 19-5 overall, 13-2 in conference play, while the Wildcats drop to 9-16, 7-8 overall in NEAC action.
The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) office announced last night that Morrisville State College is the host site of the 2012-13 Men’s Basketball Conference Championship Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, February 23 and Sunday, February 24. Morrisville State clinched the overall top seed in the tournament after claiming the North Division regular season title for the second straight season. The Mustangs currently sit atop the conference standings with a 12-2 NEAC record (18-5 overall) with one game remaining.
Excitement looms as the Morrisville State College women’s lacrosse team eyes the opening of the new season, looking to build off a program best 13-6 record last year that included a perfect 9-0 mark in conference action. Final preparations are underway for the 2013 season opener, scheduled next Friday against Chapman University in Orange, California.
The Morrisville State College athletics department has named junior forward, Mickey Davis (Syracuse, N.Y. / Jamesville-DeWitt) the Mustang Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 10. Davis led the men’s basketball team to two conference victories on the week, including a come-from-behind victory over rival Cazenovia on Saturday. Collectively he tallied 34 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and a steal in two games.
