The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its 2010 Fall SUNYAC All-Academic Team and Commissioner's List with Morrisville State College field hockey player, Amber Martin (Hudson Falls, NY) earning All-Academic team honors. To be eligible for SUNYAC All-Academic team recognition the nominated student-athlete must have a fall semester grade point average of 3.3 or higher.

The Morrisville State College men's ice hockey team, together with the Morrisville community, raised more than $6,000 Saturday for the Saves For A Cure program, a non-profit charitable organization that assists children, in the Rochester, N.Y. area, with their battle against cancer.

The Morrisville State College women's basketball team outlasted host Penn State Berks Sunday afternoon, stunning the Nittany Lions with an 83-78 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory in overtime in Reading, Pennsylvania. The Mustangs by as many as 12 in the second half, but the Nittany Lions battled back and hit a three-pointer with 20 seconds remaining in the contest to force the overtime period.

Freshman forward, Darren Green (Greece, NY) netted a collegiate best 20 points to lead visiting Morrisville State College men's basketball to its third straight victory, a 97-81 defeat of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Penn State Berks, Sunday afternoon in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Visiting Morrisville State College women's basketball battled turnovers Saturday afternoon, recording 25 in the 56-48 loss to host Penn State Abington in Abington. Morrisville State recorded 14 first half turnovers, and trailed by as many as 12 in the second half, as Abington picked up the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory.

Junior Justin Delamothe (Cross River, NY) went 3-0 for the Mustangs at 125 pounds, but it wasn't enough as Morrisville State fell short in three dual matches Saturday at the Messiah College Duals. Kings College recorded the victory on the mats over Morrisville by a 36-8 final. Gettysburg won 31-9 and Messiah posted a 33-11 win over the Mustangs on the day.

The Mustangs fell to a 9-10-1 (6-5-1 SUNYAC) overall record after tonight's game against the SUNY Plattsburgh Cardinals, ending with three unanswered Plattsburgh goals in the third period.

Junior guard Wayne Turner (Brooklyn, NY) recorded a collegiate best 30 points to lead the Morrisville State College men's basketball team to a 84-75 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over host Penn State Abington Saturday afternoon in Abington. Morrisville State improves to 8-11 overall with the win, 6-7 in conference action.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named women's basketball junior, Dyshea Smiley (Harlem, NY) and men's basketball freshman, Kucjok Ater (Syracuse, NY) the Mustang Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 30.

Visiting Oswego State won six of 10 matches Wednesday night at Morrisville State College, picking up the 24-15 dual win in Morrisville. Michael Gentilcore (Rochester, NY) posted a major decision victory at 125 pounds, defeating Morrisville State's Justin Delamothe (Cross River, NY) 10-0 to give Oswego the early 4-0 match lead.

Host Hamilton College women's basketball handed visiting Morrisville State College a 66-44 non-conference loss Wednesday night. Morrisville State drops to 3-15 overall on the season. Keyla Arce (Bronx, NY) and Nijee Scott (Bronx, NY) combined for 33 of the Mustangs 44 total points on the night, adding 13 boards and six assists, with Scott leading the way with 19.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending January 30, naming Morrisville State College freshman Taylor Vince (Barrie, ONT) the Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week. Vince, defenseman for the Mustangs, tallied two goals and two assists for Morrisville State in an 8-6 conference win over Brockport on Friday.

Morrisville State College senior forward Bryan Eddy (White Plains, NY) recorded 16 points and 14 rebounds as the visiting Mustangs topped host SUNY Canton 84-59 Tuesday night in Potsdam. Morrisville State opened the contest with an 11-3 run over the first six minutes of the game and led by as many as 15 in the first twenty, en route to a 38-27 lead at the break.

Senior forward Easter Faafiti (Pittsburg, CA) posted 30 points and grabbed 24 rebounds to lead visiting #20 nationally ranked Gallaudet University to a 64-57 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over host Morrisville State College Sunday afternoon. Morrisville State pulled to within eight with six minutes remaining in the contest, but Faafiti added nine additional points down the stretch to secure the win for the Bisons, who remain undefeated at 18-0.

Visiting Gallaudet University men's basketball posted a 85-77 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory over host Morrisville State College Sunday afternoon in Morrisville. Morrisville State pulled to within four with less than a minute remaining in the contest, but Gallaudet remained perfect on the day from the charity stripe, hitting six of a game total 22 in the closing seconds to secure the win.

Visiting Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball hit six three's and forced 13 Mustang turnovers in the first half en route to a 74-59 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest Saturday afternoon in Morrisville. Morrisville State shot just 20.7 percent from the floor in the first half while Harrisburg raced out to a 44-24 lead at the break. In the second half, the Mustangs attempted a comeback attempt, but fell short as the Nittany Lions collected the win.

Host SUNY Geneseo tallied three first period goals and added another in the second to hand visiting Morrisville State College ice hockey a 4-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) loss Saturday afternoon in Geneseo. The Ice Knights stunned Morrisville State with their first score of the evening, as Carson Schell put one past Mustang netminder Caylin Relkoff (Grand Forks, BC) just 1:49 into the contest.

The Morrisville State College women's basketball team came from behind to edge host Cazenovia College by a 58-57 final, Wednesday night in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action in Cazenovia.

Tim Wierman, a nationally renowned speaker on the topic of sports nutrition, will be speaking at Morrisville State College tonight at 7 p.m. in the Student Activities Center Theatre. Wierman will address topics related to sports nutrition including fuel for the athlete, pre-competition meal planning, recovery foods, and fluid replacements for the athlete.

The Morrisville State College men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday night, posting a victory over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Cazenovia College by an 88-71 final in Cazenovia. Morrisville State led by three at the break before Cazenovia shot just 27 percent from the floor, compared to the Mustangs 59 percent, in the second half.

The Morrisville State College athletic department has named freshman hockey defenseman, James Jarvis (Pickering, ONT) the Mustang Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 23. Jarvis posted a goal and assist in the 3-2 loss to #14 Hobart College on Saturday. He assisted the first score in the second period to cut the Statesman lead to one, before netting a power play score in the 19th minute of the final period to complete Mustang scoring.
